When you’re working with a smaller wardrobe, sometimes it’s nice to switch things up a little. I’ve been looking at ways to update my wardrobe, here are a few clothing hacks I use:
01. CLOTHING HACKS: LAYERING
Layering is key for me. I love to layer, because it keeps me warm without having to buy a completely new wardrobe. For me, it’s a great way to incorporate my spring and summer wardrobe in fall and winter.
02. ADDING PINS
This trend has been going around for a while now and it’s an easy way to change up your wardrobe. I would recommend using detachable pins and patches, so you have the option to use them or leave them off. It’s also a fun way to showcase a bit of your personality.
03. CUT IT OFF
Cut it off or cut it up, both options can refresh tired looking pieces of clothing. This works incredibly well on denim, but you can also use this on other fabrics.
04. DIFFERENT WAYS TO WEAR
When you’re stuck in a rut, you keep wearing things the same way you always have. I always turn to good’ole Pinterest for some inspiration. With shirts for example, you can wear them completely buttoned up or loose with a lacy top peeking through. Keep them hanging open or tuck them into your jeans. A less obvious example is wearing a sweater with an open back backwards and playing with different necklines.
05. DYING YOUR CLOTHES
As I wear a lot of black clothes, the struggle to keep them looking black is real! I dye some of my black clothes every few months, but of course it’s also a great way to switch things up and completely change the color. I wrote a blogpost on how I dyed my animal print skirt, if you want to read a bit more about it.
